Alvares ski resort: The most beautiful part of
Ardabil province in terms of tourism, is located on the foothills of
Sabalan mountain. It is the biggest ski resort in
Iran.
It is located at a distance of 12 km from Alvares village and 24 km from
Sareyn.
Since the resort is at an attitude of 3200 meters above sea level, and due to abundant precipitation during fall and winter, this area can be used for about 6 or 8 months of the year.
In terms of all these, it is ranked first in all country. It is called Alvares, due to being near Alvares village, the oldest settlement in Sabalan. But the most common use for this village is Pars dynasty.
This area has outstanding characteristic including: Installation of chairlift line with 1250 meters length, by Austrian du Paul Meyer Company.
Installation of a tele ski to teach and use of enthusiasts, and construction of 2 classes stations, Office building, hotel, restaurant, modern and well-equipped hotel, and Alvares Sport building.
