Najafabad (Persian: نجفآباد, also Romanized as Najafābād and Nejafābād) is a city in and the capital of
Najafabad County,
Isfahan Province,
Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 206,114, in 54,529 families.

Najafabad is the birthplace of Grand Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri, Mostafa Moeen and Moein (singer).
It is also the hometown of Iranian-American poet Dr. Mahnaz Badihian
The city serves as a trade center for agricultural products in the region, and is noted for its pomegranates and almond.
One of the attractions of Najafabad is "Arg-e Sheykh Bahaie" that has recently been repaired.
The people of Najafabad mourned for the death of Ayatollah Hossein-Ali Montazeri on Sunday December 20, 2009 and all shops were closed for the honor of his death.
