One of the Architectural gems of the constitutional period (in Ghajar era) is Karshahi beautiful castle or Badrood thieves’ castle. It is located in the east of Aran and Bidgol cities, in the north of Aboozidabad city and close to Yakh AB Mountain in Isfahan.
It was entirely constructed of adobe and has five great towers for monitoring.
The castle has some nested chambers and it is surrounded by a big moat with engineering method in order to prevent enemies to invade the castle.
Foundation of the castle dates back to pre-Islamic period and it was restored during different periods such as Mongol invasion to stop the enemy to enter the central areas of Iran.
After devastation of Arg-e-Bam in earthquake in 2003, Karshahi Castle is the biggest adobe monument of Iran.
The complicated structure of the castle makes it difficult to capture it and in its design the defensive principles are well predicted.
