Sheikh Ahhmad-e Jami was a Persian Sufi, Sufi writer, poet and mystic. His
tomb is located in Torbat-e
Jam Razavi Khorasan province.
He took up the life of a hermit and lived in seclusion for eighteen years, on the mountain of Nâmaq until about 1082 (475 A.H.), and then on the mountain of Bizd for the next six years until circa 1088 (481 A.H.).
At the age of forty he returned to society to guide the people and make wine-drinkers and sinners to repent.
Although the titles of his books are in Arabic, all of them are written in Persian.
Most of them are about theology; some of his important books include: "The key of Redemption", "The Treasure of Wisdom" and "The Lamp of Pilgrims".
His
tomb consists of 10 ancient monuments that are gathered around a vast well.
His grave is located in front of a huge porch without any structure; it is built with the brick and plaster that is 20.5 m long, 2m wide and about 1 m high.
There is also a pistachio tree next to the grave that pilgrims have a special belief in it.
