Tomban (Pants)
Each country has its customs and traditions which are very attractive for the fans of culture and history of a land. Local people in rural areas of Mazandaran Province, in North of Iran, wear some traditional clothes and dresses.
One of them is a kind of pants is called Tomban, Tangeh Tomban, or Pashmebal. Women usually wear it. Women did not wear pants up to three decades ago unless in cold days of autumn and winter.
They wear Shliteh, a traditional dressing, instead. It was a wrinkled skirt with many frills and creases originally, so it was called "Tombon Ghomboli".
But as time passed, women in rural areas turned to wear pants in dark colors instead of those frilled skirts in bright colors and different paintings and designs.
