Each country has its customs and traditions which are very attractive for the fans of culture and history of a land. The local women of rural areas of
Mazandaran Province, in North of
Iran, wear some traditional clothes and dresses.
One of them, which might be the most known wearing, is a kind of pants called
Sheliteh. It is a skirt which women usually wear it.
It is a wrinkled skirt with many frills and creases originally.
It is made from fabrics with 10 meters length and 30-50 centimeters width. A ribbon is used for the waist part; it makes the skirt very beautiful, either.
Sheliteh is shorter in places with moderate climate, but it is longer in the countryside and villages with cold climate.
But as time passed, women in rural areas turned to wear pants in dark colors instead of those frilled skirts in bright colors and different paintings and designs.
