Karkheh protected area has Mahori hill on north side and a plain part on south side.
Karkheh River is running through this region. This meandering river is running toward south and west side of khuzestan. It has an area of 10763 hectares.
There are tropical forests on both side of this region and also they surround the river. So there is no mountain or valley in this region. Due to its narrow width, also there is no vast and great plain.
