On Maroun river, at a distance of 19 km of east north of Behbahan, a big dam is built. Maroun dam is made of grit and sand.
The reasons of its construction are providing water for agricultureing, irrigation of almost 55000 hectares by managing the current water of Maroun River, controlling the flood and exploitation of water for producing power.
Maroun River attaches to khuzestan plain in a place which is called Jam Sabi.
