Golestan crossing is one of the historical dams of Khorasan province which is located at the distance of 8 km in west of Mashhad on the Golestan river. Nowadays this dam is considered as one of the worth seeing and touristy places of Mashhad city.
Although the history of its construction dates back to 500 years ago, it is still firm. This building is one of Teimoriyan era's buildings. There are different theories about Golestan Dam's founder.
Some regard Shahrokh the son of Teimor Gorkani as founder of dam and some know the crossing as one of the buildings of GoharShad Beigom's, the wife of Shahrokh.
Some others know Golestan as bondwoman of Goharshad, also they regard Golestan Village and dam as hers.
Golestan Dam is built in area that the width of valley becomes narrower and there are great rocks on both sides of it.
