Khanj congregation is built on the south side of Fars province and Khanj Township of Larestan. The antiquity of this building dates back to 8th AH century, but it is necessary to mention that the present building of mosque belongs to recent periods also its validity relates to remains of Sheikh Mohammad Abu Najam's temple which was built in Agh Ghoyonlo's era upon Sham Al Din Sheikh Haj Mohammad Khanji's grave (one of celebrated and Gnostic men of Fars).
The entrance door of Khanj congregation is also repaired in 11 century and some new inscriptions are added to this entrance. The name of Sheikh Safi Al Din Ardebili is being observed clearly among those few remaining inscriptions on the arch of entrance door.
