People usually have their traditional clothing and dresses in every country. Local people of Mazandaran Province in North of Iran have had their own traditional colthings as well.
One of them which women wear is called Nim Taneh or Jelizgheh. It is a Waistcoat which women wear especially in rural areas.
It is very similar to the manly Waistcoat in appearance.
It is usually woven with woolen fibers decorated with coins or some beautiful stones and metallic or wooden crafts. It is also made from velour. Nim Taneh is called Simpoush in Eastern parts of Mazandaran Province.
It is wear in celebrations such as wedding parties. Simpoush has usually been a clothing of rich people and ordinary people usually cannot afford it.
Many tourists who visit Mazandaran Province buy some traditional handicrafts such as the traditional dressings as souvenir.
