Akbarieh Museum has been established to display customs and type of clothing, jobs of southern region of Khorasan, which was customary and is now obsolete.
It has garden, museums of archaeology, anthropology and wildlife. It was recorded as a UNESCO world heritage site in 2012.The first thing that attract your attention, is the appearance of the building.
The old mansion that experts believe, it belongs to Shokat Almolk.
In one corner a man is cutting his client`s hair, on the other corner a seller is using abacus, in another corner some local men wearing special clothing, are playing music with their musical instrument.
In one look you can see different jobs of
Birjand people. In archaeological part of mansion, you can see objects dating back to five thousand years ago.
This museum consist of three parts; prehistoric, historic and Islamic period. Another spectacular part of Akbarieh garden, is the anthropology museum in which you can see sculpture of
Birjand people who are working and living.

In wildlife museum taxidermy animals are waiting for you. They try to show the rare fauna of South Khorasan. This collection has almost one hundred different types of birds, mammal and reptile in taxidermy form.
