Mehrjard Castle is a big castle with five watchtowers, 3 watchtowers in southern parts and 2 ones in northern parts.
This castle is among the samples of castles exists in all villages of Meybod.
The castle has been built during Afsharieh period with three floors, a ditch around it and a water well inside.
It used to be the site for Mehjardian people to live but later due to the safety of the city and overpopulation changed to the place for keeping people's property and provisions.
The castle consists of 210 small and large rooms, inside the rooms there are some clayey crocks sometimes with the height of 2.5 m emblazoned with the names of The Imams; the interesting point is that the crocks are made inside the rooms.
The rooms are connected to each other by narrow covered corridors.
Each of these rooms belongs to a Mehjardian family with a title deed.
