Aryans Medians was built in Hegmataneh City (17th century BC) and it was the first capital of the Persian Empire."Hegmatane" or "Hengmatane" which means gathering place in the Old Persian Language is a combination of two words "Hong" means "place" and "Matane" means "gathering".
This old town was the first capital of Iran and like Athens in Greece and Rome in Italy is one of the few ancient cities in the world that is still alive and important.
Herodotus (Greek historian) claimed that the construction had been built by Diyako as well as he attributed the first building to Diyako -the first median king- (728 BC) and also he said, it had seven-colored walls and each color referred to a specific planet.
Imperial Palace, located in the last inner castle, was consisted of hundreds of rooms and also people built their homes outside the castles or next to it.
