Gonbad-e-Sabz( Green Dome) is the mausoleum of Sheilkh Momen Astarabadi in Mashhad that belongs to Safavid era. The dome of a tomb is decorated with greenish turquoise tile work.
The structure has an octagonal plan with four Iwans (porch). In addition to Iwans and arches, the beautiful tile work has given the tomb a spectacular view.
Its facade was tiled in 1974 and some restoration works was done inside the tomb. There’s also an inscription inside the tomb with a Hadith said by the Prophet.
The mausoleum is interesting for the local residents and pilgrims of Mashhad, especially for the followers of mysticism.
