On the western side of Park-e Laleh, the
Tehran museum of contemporary Art is in a striking concrete modernist building constructed to build modern landmarks in the 1970s.
Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Art (TMOCA) is an art museum in
Tehran,
Iran.
Inaugurated in 1977, and built adjacent to
Tehran's Laleh Park, the museum was designed by Iranian architect Kamran Diba, who employed elements from traditional Persian architecture.
The building can be regarded as an example of contemporary art in itself. Most of the museum area is located underground.
here’s a collection of art by Iranian artists and some of the biggest names of the last century. Established during the ’70s, the museum holds arguably the greatest collection of Western art in Asia.
It includes works by Picasso, Matisse,
Van Gogh, Miró, Dali, Bacon, Pollock, Monet and Warhol, among others.

It is said that there is approximately £2.5 billion worth of modern art held at the museum. The museum hosts a revolving program of exhibitions and occasionally organises exhibitions by local artists.
