Traditional clothing in
East Azerbaijan, more than any cultural issues has been under rapid changes. Today, only among local villagers and nomads this local clothing can be seen.
Geographic condition, environment and climate, lifestyle, social condition, economic condition, technological advances, as well as religious and customs of different communities are an important factor affecting the uniform and clothing in different communities.
Local clothing of famous tribes in
East Azerbaijan, like Shahsavand and Arasbaran is one of the most cultural attractions.
Tribe`s men don`t have special clothing, their suite and hat known as Kepy (which is like Gilan`s men hat) form Shahsavary`s men clothing. Women`s clothing in the tribal area of
East Azerbaijan foem the vast majority of the old way and included long shirts, skirts, long and crimp kerchief (large scarf) .Colures used in woman`s clothing are often bright colures and floral fabric.
The type of clothing, sewing, decorating and jewelry among tribe`s woman have diversity.

The type of fabrics depending on people`s financial condition, are Tiffany, Tweedy, littoral, Taffeta, Velvet and recently silk.
Recording of sewing skills of local clothing as spiritual heritage helps to promote the invaluable heritage, by documentation, research, protection and promotion to keep this spiritual heritage in the future.
Men and women clothing are divided into 3 part; caps, clothing and footwear. Skullcap, scarf, shawl, headbands, scarves, colorful scarf were the most common rural and tribal woman`s clothing.
Long shirts, long and short skirts, vest, jacket with velvet and cashmere fabrics are the woman`s clothing. Woman`s foot wear had different types, like socks, slippers (shoes without heels), Qundara (a single cheek leather shoes in wedding parties).
Men also had different types of hat, in Turkish they are called Burk or Papakh and were included of felt had and skullcap.
Men`s clothing were included of white shirts, Panjeh (sort of clothing such as coats), sheep skin and suite.
Dolama (special kind of boots) are also a variety of tribal and rural men of East Azerbaijan.
Local clothing: West Azerbaijan because of two largest ethnic Azeri and Kurds and also various tribes, has many different clothing.
Nomadic woman`s clothing are made of beautiful and colorful fabrics. The lang and floral shirt that they wear, is known as Krass. These shirts are long and loose and usually made from high quality fabrics.
Tribal woman use Vest on their floral shirt which is known as Alak with vivid colors that some jewelry are sewn to it.
Nomadic woman use some kind of scarf on their shirts called Binder.
They wear colorful pants, long to the ankle; called Dprpa. They had a head kerchief called Shalmeh. In some tribes of this province, woman put a cap on their head called Tashat.
Tribal men also use some kind of trousers called Dorpa, made from white cloth.
They wear a kind of trouser on their Dorpa called Keshale Vakil. Men`s shirt is known as Keras. Satr is also a kind of woolen jacket worn in winter.
They wear a black handkerchief around their waist called Pooshi.
Kurdish tribes in this province wear their own costumes. Men and woman`s clothing consists of shirts, hats and footwear that in different ceremonies such as celebrations, funerals are different.
Kurdish men`s clothing called Feqian (legging) is a piece of white cotton or silk cloth, sewn into the shape of a Funnel, closed around the wrist.
Chookhe is also a woolen or cotton bust. Kurdish men wear loose pants that have a narrow foot, called pantol. They wear a shirt with long sleeve that turn it around the wrist or the arm.
They also wear a shawl over their dress, tied at the waist.
Men`s clothing is usually white, gray, brown and black. Instead of hat, they use turban called Deshlameh, mandali, Rashty, Servin and Fillet. Woman`s clothing are one of the most beautiful costumes.
Most of Kurdish woman `s clothing are made up of bright colors, like red and green. Mashteh is a piece of black silk cloth which has two meters length and a half meter width.
When going out of house, they throw it on their shoulders. When Kurdish woman want to work, specially rural woman, they wear a pant like men`s pant.
In other cases they wear loose trousers made of silk.
They wear a bust on their shirt called Kalanjeh. Kurdish woman also use a hat in the shape of short cylinder, that they decorate it by colorful sequins.
Some of them also use a scarf or turban with long strand of black and white silk and lacing, called Kaleka.
