According to Dehkhoda Dictionary, the Language of Azerbaijan is originally "a branch of the Iranian languages known as Azari" (see Ancient Azari Language).However the modern Azeri Language is a Turkic Language very closely related to the Language of West Azerbaijan and Turkey.
